MS Project � Basic

The expected outcomes of this course are:
- The
student will learn the basic functional operation of Microsoft Project
including basic functions, menu system, and different views.
- Create
a project plan to manage various assigned tasks. Learn each individual
tasks and how they work themselves into the project environment.
- Understand
how to develop timing to each task assignment and how to manage various
project events.
- Demonstrate
how to use MS Project as an active live document and reporting tool, by
introducing updates to tasks and management of them.
- Introduce
how MS Project is compatible with other MS Office applications to for
various business capabilities.

Show project management hierarchy chart.

Explain business theory of project.
- Basic
Interface with project.
- Subtasks:
i.
Explain different project plan views.
ii.
Open a new project plan.
iii.
Introduce project setup.
iv.
Explore each menu system.
- Developing
the Task.
- Subtasks:
i.
Create a task to the project plan.
ii.
Set dates to each tasks.
iii.
Create a note inside the task.
iv.
Explain what a constraint on the tasks is.
v.
Independent tasks / Linked tasks.
vi.
Update timing of each tasks.
- Reporting
tools inside project.
- Subtasks:
i.
Use timing dates to show predictions.
ii.
Filter tasks.
iii.
Generate a visual report with MS Project.
- Export
data to MS Office environment.
- Subtasks:
i.
Export MS Project to excel.
ii.
Copy reports to MS Power point.
iii.
Create a PDF (if you have adobe creator).
Each section will be explained via the Knowledge-mart.com
system. Each section will have a brief quiz for the student to go through. At
the end of the course will be a final checkpoint (test) to verify the student
has knowledge of basic user level MS Project.
